Jamie Jacobson

Bio
Jamie has been the Director of Dance at the University of Central
Oklahoma for the last 16 years. She holds a Masters Degree in Choreography
and a B.S. Degree in Dance with Teacher Certification from Brigham
Young University. She has taught all levels of dance technique and
has been commissioned to create choreography for childrens programs,
high school dance companies, university dance programs and musical
theatre productions. As Artistic Director of the UCO Kaleidoscope
Dancers Company, she has choreographed more than 25 works for the
company, and her works have been selected for the American College
Dance Festival, the Mid-America Dance Network Choreographers
Showcase and Tulsas Local Motion Foundation. She has performed
professionally for Sundance Theatre, Osmond Productions for ABC, and
has performed works by Tandy Beal, Larry Clark, Lynda Davis, Maida
Withers and Joan Woodbury. Ms. Jacobson is actively involved in arts
education and has served on the board for the Oklahoma Alliance for
Arts Education, the Edmond Arts and Humanities Council and the national
board of the American College Dance Festival. Jacobson is also the
recipient of the "Distinguished Creativity Award" by the
UCO Chapter of the American Association of University Professors and
she has been honored with the prestigious "Hauptman Fellow"
Award for Outstanding Scholarly Activity by the UCO College of Graduate
Studies and Research.
