UCO Hosts Free Day-long Acting Workshop for High School Students
January 18, 2008
The University of Central Oklahoma's Department of Theatre, Dance and Media Arts will hold its annual "Theatre High School Day," from noon to 10 p.m., Feb. 16 in Mitchell Hall Theater on the UCO campus. This year the event will be free.
The workshop gives high school student actors the opportunity to attend classes in auditioning, acting techniques, improvisation and stage makeup. In addition, high school seniors will have the opportunity to audition for theatre scholarships.
A campus tour, dinner with UCO theatre faculty and a free ticket to that evening's theatre production of "Don't Dress for Dinner," followed by a backstage tour of Mitchell Hall, also are included.
The workshop will be limited in size so early registration is advised.
For more information or to register, contact Hayley Thompson at (405) 216-2585 or by email at hthompson10@ucok.edu.
This year's workshop is being paid for by a grant from the Oklahoma Center for Arts Education.
