February 12, 2008
The University of Central Oklahoma will host the 48th annual "Young Talent in Oklahoma" exhibition from March 1 - 28 in the Donna Nigh Gallery on the 4th floor of UCO's Nigh University Center.
Sponsored, in part, by the UCO College of Arts, Media and Design and the Oklahoma Center for Arts Education, "Young Talent in Oklahoma" is a juried exhibition showcasing visual artwork created by high school students throughout the state.
Entries are judged by UCO faculty members, professional artists and association members, with thousands of dollars in scholarships, tuition waivers and cash being awarded each year.
"We are excited to showcase the work of these fine students," said Zena Gelona, director of Galleries and Collections at UCO. "The level of talent is amazing and worthy of the public's support."
A gala reception and awards ceremony will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., March 1, in the Donna Nigh Gallery.
The exhibit is free and open to the public.
