UCO Wind Symphony to present fall concert
October 6 , 2006

The University of Central Oklahoma`s School Of Music will present the UCO Wind Symphony in performance with "Wild Birds," at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at UCO’s Mitchell Hall Theater.
Led by Dr. Brian Lamb, the director of bands at UCO, the symphony will perform
"Old" English folksongs, harmonies of Messiaen, classical Harmoniemusik, music from Arthur Bird and a wind arrangement of Shelly Berg`s Grammy Award-winning rendition of "Blackbird."
"I really think there will be something for every kind of music and bird lover at this concert," said Lamb.
"With great pieces like "Blackbird," the "William Byrd Suite" and Messiaen`s "Oiseaux Exotiques," which means wild birds, the concert should be both educational and entertaining."
The UCO Wind Symphony is a performing ensemble in the band division of the UCO School of Music. Members are selected by audition.
Last March, by invitation, the group performed to an audience of 2,000 at New York City`s Carnegie Hall.
