Music Theatre major named top UCO freshman

Matthew Bergman of Stillwater has been recognized with the University of Central Oklahoma Freshman Scholastic Award for receiving the highest grade point average based on credit hours for a UCO male freshman.

A 2005 graduate of Stillwater High School, he is the son of Doug and Debby Bergman, of Amarillo.

The award recognized Bergman’s academic achievements at UCO during the 2005-2006 academic year.

Now a sophomore, during his first two semesters at UCO, Bergman accomplished 33 credit hours with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. He is majoring in music theater.

Bergman said he would like to pursue a career on Broadway, and possibly teaching sometime in the future.
