Join Us for High Tea, Fashion & Music

The Edmond Historical Society and the University of Central Oklahoma College of Arts, Media & Design will host a High Tea on Thursday, September 20 at 3pm at the Edmond Historical Society located at 431 S. Boulevard.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite purse and join the fun.  Reservations are required and tickets are $40 per person.  Guests may RSVP by calling the museum at 405-340-0078, ordering tickets online at www.edmondhistory.org or emailing Iris Muno Jordan at imjordan@coxinet.net by September 17th.  The High Tea is being held in conjunction with The Purse & the Person:  A Century of Women’s Purses traveling exhibit on display through September 30th.  The Oklahoma City Museum of Art Café will cater wonderful refreshments including flowering teas, finger sandwiches, scones, sweet cream and preserves, bittersweet chocolate truffles and tartlets.  Also featured will be the UCO String Quartet, a fashion show and Dr. Gladys Lewis, UCO English professor and author of Loaves and Hyacinths: Tea Rooms in London and East Anglia.  In addition, a purse donated by Tiger Lily will be given away as a door prize during the event.

The Edmond Historical Society is located at 431 S. Boulevard in Edmond and hours of operations are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturdays 1pm-4pm.  Admission is free. You may visit the museum’s website at www.edmondhistory.org.
