August 4, 2006

Doug Fallis, a 1979 graduate of Putnam City West High School, was recently awarded the University of Central Oklahoma’s top upper classman award, the University Scholastic Award, for having earned the highest grade-point average of all UCO juniors and seniors while taking the most college credit hours.

The award recognized his academic achievements at UCO during the 2005-2006 academic year.

Fallis, a music education major, graduated UCO in May after taking 41 credit hours during his senior year and maintaining a 3.82 grade-point average.

Fallis is married to Monna Fallis, and the couple have a 16-year-old child, Taylor.

While attending UCO, Fallis was a member of the Music Educator’s National Convention, and was named Outstanding Male Senior in UCO’s School of Music.

Fallis plans to serve as a graduate assistant at UCO for the spring of 2007 and will pursue a career as a band director.
