Saxophone Player Vince Norman to Play UCO Jazz Lab

Former University of Central Oklahoma student Vince Norman, now a well-known jazz composer and saxophone player, will return to central Oklahoma to play a special concert with the Edmond Jazz Orchestra at 8 p.m. Oct. 24, at the UCO Jazz Lab.
Norman received jazz instruction at UCO prior to joining the U.S. Army Field Band where for 15 years he played tenor sax.
He has performed in Europe, Japan, India, Mexico and Canada and all 50 states, except Alaska. He also has played with the National Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony and with the Cincinnati Pops at several venues, including Carnegie Hall.
In addition, he has performed with such notables as Arturo Sandoval, Clark Terry, Phil Woods, Marvin Hamlisch, Toots Thielmans, Tommy Tune, Hal Linden, The Four Aces, The Four Freshmen and The Temptations.
An active composer, Norman has written numerous pieces for jazz ensembles and orchestras and is currently on the full time arranging staff for the U.S. Army Field Band.
