UCO TO OFFER ‘DAY OF DANCE’ FOR AREA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
October 16 , 2007

The University of Central Oklahoma’s Department of Theatre, Dance & Media Arts will offer a “UCO High School Day of Dance” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 3, at the UCO Health and Physical Education building.
Open to youth ages 12 and up, as well as high school juniors and seniors, the event will allow prospective students an opportunity to learn more about the UCO Dance Program, dance auditions and scholarships.
In addition, participants will be able to take classes in ballet, modern, jazz and repertory from the award-winning UCO dance faculty.
UCO Director of Dance, Jamie Jacobson, said the special day allows high school students who are thinking about pursuing dance at the college level an opportunity to get all of their questions answered.
“Participants will be able to meet our faculty, learn about our program and the dance degrees that we offer, as well as get information about our spring auditions and how to apply for dance scholarships,” said Jacobson.
The cost is $45 per person and includes four dance classes, lunch and a ticket to the UCO Choreography Concert that evening featuring new choreography by several guest artists.
For more information or to register, contact Jamie Jacobson at (405) 974-5231 or by email at jjacobson@ucok.edu.
