Signups and Rehearsals Begin for UCO Summer Band

The University of Central Oklahoma School of Music is currently signing up musicians for its 57th annual UCO Summer Band.

The band performs at the popular “Concert in the Park,” a part of Edmond’s LibertyFest activities. This year’s concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. June 28 in Mitchell Hall Theater.

Community members, college musicians and high school band members are encouraged to join the band. Rehearsals will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning Monday, June 4 in the UCO music building band room and will continue every Monday until the concert. Auditions are not required.

The group will perform a variety of music at the concert including marches, patriotic selections and light classics. For more information, call the band director, Dr. Ron Howell at (405) 974-5752.
