on Journey of Love
August 24, 2006

The University of Central Oklahoma Donna Nigh Gallery will present an art exhibit, titled "Odyssey of Love," featuring artwork by former UCO student Mary Hines and recent UCO graduates Megan Landa and Nick Bayer.
The exhibit opens with a reception between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sept. 14 and runs through Oct. 15 in the Donna Nigh Gallery Exhibit Hall, on the Fourth Floor Gallery in the UCO Nigh University Center.
The exhibit will feature photo-graphy, paintings and collages showing various depictions of love. Featured artists say the works explore the odyssey of the heart and how it searches for the connection between ourselves and the world around us.
Mary Hines, who will be showing photography, says she likes to create images that speak in layers and offer a connection between the photograph and the observer`s own experiences.
"The odyssey of my artwork is brought about by a magnetic pull towards the message and meaning of life. And for me, the journey has revealed an underlying theme of love along the way," said Hines.
