UCO to Offer Guitar Concepts Workshop for All Ages
June 1, 2007

The University of Central Oklahoma's School of Music will hold a summer workshop, “Guitar Concepts,” with UCO guitar instructor Danny Vaughan from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 20 through June 22 at the UCO Jazz Lab.
The workshop will introduce moderately experienced guitarists of all ages to basic chord and scale construction and will show how they fit together to produce various musical styles including country, rock, jazz, blues and classical.
Vaughan has been the UCO jazz guitar instructor since 1993 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance and a Master of Music Education degree.
He has performed with the Oklahoma City Symphonic Orchestra and Philharmonic Orchestra, Ballet Oklahoma and Lyric Theatre.
"The material we cover in this workshop is what separates the guitarists who play well from the ones who wished they played well," said Vaughan.
Tuition for the workshop is $75 per person, if registered before June 13 and all checks should be made out to UCO.
For more information or to register, contact Vaughan at (405) 359-7989 or dannyvaughan@ucojazzlab.com.
