UCO`S College Of Arts, Media & Design Director Of Dance Selected as a 2006 BYU Honored Alumnus

Jamie Jacobson, Director of Dance and assistant professor for the Department of Theatre, Dance and Media Arts at the University of Central Oklahoma, has been selected as the 2006 Honored Alumnus for the College of Health and Human Performance at Brigham Young University.

Jacobson was chosen for her outstanding example of BYU Alumni based on achievements and meritorious service. Jacobson has been the Director of Dance at UCO for the last 16 years. She holds a master’s degree in Choreography and a bachelor’s degree in Dance with Teacher Certification from BYU. She has taught all levels of dance and is actively involved in arts education.

Jacobson has served on the board for the Oklahoma Alliance for Arts Education, the Edmond Arts and Humanities Council and the national board of the American College Dance Festival.

Jacobson will be acknowledged by colleagues and family members during a luncheon at BYU on October 19, and will be formally honored at the Homecoming Spectacular in their Marriott Center that evening.
