UCO’s Annual Holiday Ceramics Sale to Feature Handmade Cups
November 10, 2006
The University of Central Oklahoma’s Department of Art will hold its annual ceramics sale, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 29, in the lobby of the Art and Design Building. This year the sale will feature cups instead of bowls.
The cups are $8 each and they feature a variety of forms and glazes.
“Over the years, we have received so many requests for cups that we decided that this would be the year to offer them,” said Gayle Singer, assistant professor of art and ceramics at UCO.
The cups are porcelain clay and made by the advanced students in the ceramics program and faculty. The cups are food and dishwasher safe.
Singer said the ceramics sale has proven to be very popular over the past several years.
“People are often lined up before the sale opens and many of the items are sold in the morning hours, so I would encourage people to come early,” she said.
Proceeds from the sale will go toward bringing professional artists to the university for workshops and lectures with art students.
