UCO Musicians to Give Benefit Concert
January 22, 2007
Faculty members from the University of Central Oklahoma School of Music will be among those presenting a benefit concert of chamber music at 3 p.m., April 15 at Peace Lutheran Church, located at 2600 E. Danforth Road in Edmond.
The concert will be performed in memory of Tony Raucci, a gifted composer who died last year in a car accident in New England.
Dr. Tess Remy-Schumacher will be featured on cello and Dr. Hong Zhu will play the violin. In addition, former UCO faculty member Tony Carrillo will perform on piano.
Remy-Schumacher, a personal friend of the Raucci family, will perform Raucci’s composition, “Variations and Interludes for Cello and Piano,” at the benefit.
Following the concert, the award-winning cellist will sell copies of her recently released CD with all proceeds going to Raucci’s wife and young son.
Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be accepted for the late composer’s family. For more information, contact Remy-Schumacher at 974-5650.
