Concert Dedicated to Former UCO Professor
August 21, 2007
The University of Central Oklahoma chamber group, the F-Clef Players, will dedicate their August 28 concert at the UCO Jazz Lab to a former UCO music faculty member who died earlier this month.
Wendell Ralston taught music for 40 years at UCO. Kent Kidwell, Interim Director of UCO’s School of Music, worked with Ralston for most of those years and said he was a favorite of many students.
“Wendell was not only a consummate musician but an outstanding teacher with compassion, seriousness and professional ethics all being a part of his tremendous success,” said Kidwell.
“The thing I remember most fondly about him is what a gentleman he was
and what a kind personality he had. Everyone that knew him will miss him greatly.”
UCO faculty Tess Remy –Schumacher, Jeff Kidwell, Lori Wooden, Kevin Eckard, and Wayne Clark will be performing at the concert which begins at 7:30. Admission to the concert is free.
