Jeff Kidwell

Jeff Kidwell has served as Assistant Director of Bands at Edmond Memorial since 1998, where his duties include assisting Marching Band, Co-director of the Symphonic Band, and assisting Jazz Ensemble. He is also the director of the 8th grade band and jazz band at Cimarron Middle School.  Mr. Kidwell also teaches 6th and 7th grade classes and is also involved in directing numerous ensembles at both schools. He also taught for five years in the Norman Public Schools.  Mr. Kidwell received his Bachelor in Music Education from The University of Central Oklahoma and his Master in Music Education from The University of Oklahoma.

Mr. Kidwell is a highly sought after musician who has performed with the likes of The Temptations, The Supremes, Branford Marsalis, Toby Keith, and Amy Grant among many others.  He also plays for “Lyric Theater,” “Ballet Oklahoma,” and as trombonist and arranger in the ever-popular variety band Souled-Out.  Mr. Kidwell occasionally performs with both the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and the Lawton Philharmonic.  He lives in Edmond with his wife Susan and their three daughters, Madeline, Gracie, and Emma Jane.
