Dr. Jennifer Helen McQuade Canadian lyric coloratura soprano, Dr. Jennifer Helen McQuade, holds the degree of Doctor of Arts in Music with a specialization in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance and a minor in History and Literature from The University of Mississippi. She also has a Master of Music in Solo Voice Performance from McGill University in Montréal, an Artist Diploma in Voice Performance from The University of Western Ontario, and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Mount Allison University in her native province of New Brunswick. Dr. McQuade has credits in both opera and musical theatre including the title role from The Ballad of Baby Doe, Laetitia from The Old Maid and The Thief, Elmire from Tartuffe, Nella from Gianni Schicchi, Younger Heidi from Follies, Lilly from The Secret Garden, and both Cinderella and Rapunzel from Into The Woods and Into The Woods, Jr. As a soloist, Dr. McQuade has appeared with the McGill Contemporary Music Ensemble and sang the Canadian premiere of Theldon Meyer's Vocalise. Dr. McQuade has served as a Young Artist with the Natchez Festival of Music and was the Assistant Director for Como Opera Guild’s production of The Barber of Seville, for which she also covered the role of Rosina. Dr. McQuade has also taken part in the Opera Theatre Program at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival in Alaska where she appeared as Judy from This is the Rill Speaking. Dr. McQuade is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Phi Kappa Phi, Pi Kappa Lambda, and the College Music Society. Dr. McQuade is an Adjunct Instructor of Voice at the University of Central Oklahoma, Adjunct Instructor of Music at Oklahoma Baptist University, and Applied Voice Instructor for Oklahoma Baptist University’s Preparatory Program.
