Amy Zuback

Amy Zuback has been a member of the theory faculty at UCO since 2001 and joined the flute faculty in 2005. Previously, she taught minor and class piano here, and has served on the faculties of Oklahoma Baptist University and Phillips University. She is also currently on the faculty at Oklahoma Christian University and maintains a private flute studio. Her high school students have received distinguished state and national honors, including the national winner of the 2005 Music Teachers National Association High School Woodwind Competition. A chamber music enthusiast, she has performed with the Arioso flute and harp duo, the Edmond Chamber Players, and at the summer festival “Music from Greer” in Arizona.
She has performed and lectured at conventions of the National Flute Association and served as chair of the NFA Pedagogy Committee for four years. She is co-author of Selected Flute Repertoire: A Graded Guide for Teachers and Students published by the NFA. A founding member and past president of the Oklahoma Flute Society, she prompted the OFS to sponsor its first commissioned work, Sonata for Flute and Piano (1999) by internationally recognized Oklahoma composer Ray E. Luke. Amy holds degrees from Oklahoma City University and the University of New Mexico, and is a doctoral candidate at the University of Oklahoma.
