For the last fifteen years Dr. Palmer’s life has revolved around teaching, mural painting and family. He currently teaches painting and photography at the University of Central Oklahoma. And serves as the director and advisor to all Photographic Arts majors.

The second area of interest has been in mural paining and public works of art. Dr. Palmer and his students have created quite a name and reputation for themselves, not only in Oklahoma, but literally around the world. Having projects in Canada, Croatia, Mexico and Macedonia their reputation continues to grow. Dr. Palmer has been featured at state, regional and national levels and recently won recognition by the Arts Assemblies for his work at the State Capital Complex. He is often sought as a guest speaker for the Oklahoma Art Education Association and the National Art Educators Association. Many of his students are currently pursuing advanced degrees around the country or work professionally as teachers, artists, muralist or photographers.

Finally Dr. Palmer celebrates with his wife Carolyn 30 years of marriage and two daughters Megan and Blake. They attend the Bethany Church of Christ where he serves as elder.
