Richard graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a B.A. in Commercial Art and Advertising Design, miners in Photography and Music. Later as a mature student he returned to UCO and completed a Masters in Education, with emphases in photography and art. He has had additional training in sculpture under Paul Moore at the University of Oklahoma to polish some of his artistic skills.
Richard has over 7 years experience as a commercial illustrator at three major companies, Honeywell, General Electric and Charles Machine Works (Ditch Witch).
As a Commercial Photographer Richard has become prophesant and deeply involved in the work of photography. With his almost 30 years of experience he has produced work for such notable clients as, Golf World Magazine, OETA Foundation, Oklahoma Historical Society, Oklahoma Territorial Museum, United States Library of Congress to only name a few.
He is member of Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographers of Oklahoma, and Metro Professional Photographers of America. His photography has taken his into Canada, Mexico, as well as the majority of the Continental U.S. for extended photo projects.
His passion for The Art and UCO bought him back in 1999 to teach in the Art/Design Department.
