Michael Wallo has always identified with the quote from Alan Kay, “The best way to predict the future is to invent it.” With a hungry curiosity Michael has always thrilled at the endless possibilities of a creative mind.

Michael was born I Edmond, OK, into a family of artists and teachers of art. He received his B.A. in Art in 1996 from The University of Central Oklahoma. He then completed his Masters of Fine Arts in Painting and Sculpture at the University of Oklahoma in 1998. He has continued his involvements within the Studio Arts and also become a Visual Arts educator, so that he could share his passion for the creative process, just as his teachers, parents and mentors had fostered the love of the Arts within him. Currently he is dividing his time and talents between the professional and instructional sides of the Art profession. During the day he is the mild mannered supervisor for Support & Development Department in the Administration Division at the University of Central Oklahoma, focusing on web development and graphic design. By night he dons a cap and gown as an adjunct instructor at the University of Central Oklahoma in the college of Arts, Media, and Design.

Since his early teenage years Michael has been dazzled by the artful inventiveness of Comic books inspiring in him an arena of freedom and exploration into the creative process. As Michael grew and developed as an artist, his passion for Fantasy and Sci-Fi led to many thematic fine art involvements ranging from drawing, painting, and sculpture and finally the mixture of all three. In recent years Michael has come full circle and is now working on the development of a comic book concept for publication by the “University of Central Oklahoma.”

As always, his love and passion for comics, sci-fi and fantasy dominate his imagination. Michael has recently pioneered the exploration into the interest of UCO students in comic books and is sponsoring the creation of the first comic book club at UCO named “The Mega League.” With co-sponsors such as Wayne Stein, John Springer and William Wallo, they hope to shine a light on this under appreciated arena of creative thought and impact on the visual, literary and film mediums.

Michael has always loved to get down and dirty when it comes to working with his hands by constantly remodeling his domical, building furniture or just making “cool things”. These kinds of activities has always provided the most peaceful and joyful aspect of Michael’s life. Michael’s love for working with his hands progressed logically into his involvement with sculpture.

Michael values hard work and devotion to ones creative needs, but he has always placed the love of family at the forefront of his life. Michael is a loving husband and father as well as an innovation and creative artist. After the recent birth of his beloved daughter Hannah, Michael is exploring merging his sculptural affections with the world of toy making.
